November was a lovely, laid back month for our family.
We enjoyed several warm fall days and played outside as much as we could, knowing that cooler temperatures will be here soon.
My biggest accomplishment of November was one round of the 21 Day Fix. My motivation in doing this is to be healthier – my focus is not on weight loss, just on becoming more disciplined, stronger and have even better eating habits. I completed 20 days – I did skip the very last day! I was proud for sticking with it for as long as I did. Cecilia is still not sleeping through the night and it is HARD waking once or twice during the night to nurse the baby and also waking early. I plan to do another round (or more) at the beginning of the year and hope Cecilia’s sleeping habits improve!
I woke up around 6:00 every morning to work out and over half of the mornings, one of my little ones joined me. The boys would participate for about 3 minutes and Cecilia would crawl all over me whenever I was on the floor. This is a post workout picture from a morning that Paxton was my workout buddy!
We enjoy our lazy Sunday’s around here. John David laid down with Weston this afternoon and fell asleep with him!
This picture was taken while I was nursing Cecilia (which happens multiple times a day). I love that the boys are enjoying a book together (it’s rarely this peaceful!) and a basket of laundry ready to fold is a very common sight in our home!
We borrowed Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 from friends and the boys loved watching these movies. They snuggled together on the couch for both of them.
This has to be one of my favorite pictures, all of my sweet sleeping little ones around me. As long and hard as the days and nights are in this season of life, many moments are so sweet.
We were coordinating in our red and black before church so I had to document this mama-daughter moment!
Little Miss Cecilia was 8 months old on the 20th.
Here are some milestones from 7 to 8 months:
- Loves taking her socks off
- Waking once or twice during the night
- bumGeniuss diapers are on the medium setting
- Wearing 9-12 month clothes
- Enjoys eating solids
- Smiles all the time
We had a low-key Thanksgiving this year with just the 5 of us. We watched the Macy’s Parade and John David prepared our meal which included a smoked turkey! Acts of Service is my love language so I felt incredibly blessed by him preparing our meal.
After Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas tree. Paxton had been looking forward to putting up our tree for weeks. We have an old fashioned 5-foot artificial tree and he assembled the entire thing – I just held him up to put the top on.
I put the lights on and then the boys decorated our tree – there were several bare spots and 2-3 ornaments on some branches but they were so proud and the tree couldn’t have been more beautiful to me!
We’re looking forward to the Christmas season!
