Housework is something that can’t be avoided. (Unless you hire a housekeeper to do it for you but many of us cannot afford that luxury.)
Having a cleaning routine in place makes it simple to keep your home tidy. You just follow the routine!
I’ve not been following a routine since before Weston was born but now that he’s 10 months old, it’s time to establish a simple cleaning routine.
Day 26 Project : Write out a cleaning routine.
When sitting down to write out a cleaning routine, you want to set yourself up for success. Try to keep things simple, you can always add in more once you get the routine down!
I came up with a list of things that need to be done daily and then things that need to be done once a week.
Daily
- Make Beds
- Laundry
- Wash Dishes
- Sweep
- 15 minute pick up
Weekly
- Monday – Mop
- Tuesday – Bathrooms
- Wednesday – Clean Kitchen
- Thursday – Project Day (washing windows, decluttering, cleaning baseboards, etc.)
In many ways this routine seems too simple, but with two little ones some days it difficult to get dinner on the table so this simple, manageable routine should set me up for cleaning success!
Do you have any tips for establishing a cleaning routine?
You're good at keeping up with the cleaning! Wow, I barely get a chance to make the beds every day nevermind SWEEP every day!! 🙂
Well, I don't sweep daily. I listed laundry and sweeping under daily tasks because I just do them as needed. Around here we just sweep when the floors are 'crunchy'! 🙂 I can guarantee you if you walked in my front door, the floors would be dirty!! {And even if I did sweep the whole house daily, the floors would still be dirty thanks to my 2 little ones!} So, please don't think I've got it all together…far from it! 🙂
Love how simple yet efficient this is! I do something similar myself.
